About Me:

Kelly LeRoux is a Professor of in the Department of Public Administration, in the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Wayne State University, where she earlier earned MPA and MSW degrees. She has published over forty peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters related to Public Administration and Management, Urban/Local Government Management and nonprofits' policy-making and political roles. She is the co-author of Nonprofit Organizations and Civil Society in United States, by Routledge, and Service Contracting: A Local Government Guide by ICMA Press. She has several projects currently in process, one of which is examines use of technology by US Counties to help increase civic engagement and voter participation. She serves on the national advisory board of Nonprofit Vote and a key votes advisor for Vote Smart, and holds an elected seat on the board of the Public Management Research Association. Past sponsors of her research include the National Endowment for the Arts, Kresge Foundation, Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy, Institute for Policy on Civic Engagement, and RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service.
