I am a dual-citizen--American by birth and Canadian since 2018. I am currently the Director of the Technology & Society Program at the University of Victoria. I am often interviewed about issues related to gender, US politics, Canadian politics, popular culture, education, and technology.

My Research:

Dr. Janni Aragon has been teaching for more than twenty years and enjoys venturing into the community to share information. She is a lively public speaker and frequently interviewed by local and international media.   Janni has been a part-time instructor, a full-time teaching stream faculty member, and an academic administrator.At this point, she welcomes her return to the teaching tenure track. Her areas of expertise are: Women and Technology, Feminist Pedagogy, Educational Technology, Gender and Politics, Popular Culture. Currently, Janni is working on a book related to teaching. She has been published in PS: Politics and Political Science, Women’s Studies Quarterly, New Political Science, and the International Journal of Media and Cultural Politics. Janni has received various teaching awards and is known for her use of educational technology in her teaching environments. In 2015, she was a Society for College and University Planning Fellow. She was awarded the Harry Hickman Teaching Excellence and Educational Leadership award in 2017. Janni has served as an MBA mentor for Leadership and an employment mentor for a local non-profit’s members. For five years, Janni founded and led an educational department at the University of Victoria. In that capacity, she sat on numerous on-campus and provincial committees related to teaching, learning, and educational technology.
