About Me:

I am a Senior Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), where I currently work on security assistance provided to countries in Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, as well as artificial intelligence as a frontier of US-China competition. My broader research interests include the foreign policy of China, China’s engagement in Africa and Asia, the Belt and Road Initiative, the export of artificial intelligence technology, the politics of Southeast Asia, and South-South cooperation. Prior to joining PRIO, I was the editor of Millennium: Journal of International Studies, Vol. 45, and I worked as a consultant at the UNESCAP in Bangkok, where I led a project on sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region. I have a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a MA in Chinese Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
